Walk through the door of Min yr Afon and you find yourself in a cottage where old and new have been carefully balanced. Beamed ceilings, wooden floors and original doors sit alongside a fully modernised kitchen and heating system. The ground floor living room has a wood burner and opens onto a dining area with bi-fold doors that look out over the garden and surrounding meadows. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking, with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a double, a three-quarter double and a single, served by one bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The property sits in a wooded valley near Laugharne Castle and the Aeron river. An enclosed garden surrounds the cottage, and there is parking beside it. One dog can stay free, though the garden contains a fenced stream accessed through a locked gate—this means the cottage is not suitable for children under ten. Electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included, along with initial logs for the burner. There is an external utility room with a washing machine and dryer, and a portable dog shower outside. The cottage is non-smoking. Laugharne itself is within reach, as are the wider attractions of the Ceredigion coast.

Not cheap, parking a nightmare, rather musty smell,t.v difficult to use, rather tatty outside. Well equipped, clean, comfortable bed, roomy shower and bath and a short walk to pubs and eateries.

My mother and I just had a lovely 5 nights at Min Yr Afon. It was absolutely fantastic. Your kitchen was beautifully thought through. The cosy living room couches and fireplace and decor was appreciated. We enjoyed visiting Dhillon Thomas's grave, the boathouse his writing shed, walking around the castle....Becoming locals at the three Mariners and a couple dinners at Brown's Hotel (particularly loved the pub side) and had coffee to enjoy the vies from the resort. Thank you so much
