Footpaths start at the gate of this single-storey cottage, offering walks of 1 to 10 miles through quiet farmland near an Iron Age fort. Aberaeron, a Georgian harbour town with independent shops, cafés and restaurants, is a short drive away. The property itself sits within a 2-acre smallholding outside Cilcennin, on land whose Welsh name means 'near fort'—a nod to the archaeology of the area.

Roath is a renovated agricultural building with exposed stone walls and everything on one level. The open-plan living space flows onto a private courtyard terrace; the kitchen has an electric oven and induction hob for proper cooking; the wet room is modern. Two bedrooms sleep four—a king and two singles. One dog stays free and can roam the property, though must be on a lead outside because of sheep in neighbouring fields and the smallholding's own chickens. There is a fenced pond 80 yards away on the owners' land. Parking for two cars is on site, and a bike store is available. Essentials including electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided; heating is by biomass underfloor system. A travel cot can be requested.

The property suits walkers, families and anyone wanting rural peace. Children need supervising outdoors on the smallholding.
