Tawelfan is a one-bedroom cottage converted from a farm building, built by the owners on their two-acre smallholding near Cilcennin in Ceredigion. The exposed stonework and single-level design give it genuine character; everything flows on one floor, from the open-plan living space through to a bedroom with a king-size bed and a wet room with shower. Patio doors lead to your own enclosed courtyard with seating, where you can watch the surrounding fields. The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave and dishwasher, so you can cook properly if you want to.
Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. There's parking for two cars on site, a bike store, and a shared utility room with a washing machine. One dog stays free and can come with you; the smallholding also has sheep in the fields and chickens around, so dogs need to be on a lead when outside the cottage. Public footpaths nearby lead to walks of between one and ten miles through quiet countryside. Aberaeron, a Georgian harbour town with independent shops, cafés and restaurants, is a 15-minute drive away.
