About Buzzard's Nest Glamping
When you're looking for something a bit unusual for a bolthole in Somerset's Blackdown Hills National Landscape, Buzzard's Nest Glamping delivers. Book in here and you'll be staying in roundhouses crafted from sustainable natural materials – including straw bales – and set in wildflower meadows screened by mature woods. Inside, all is comfort and cosiness: kingsize beds, pull-out sofa beds, and creature comforts like a kettle, mini fridge and breakfast table, plus an ensuite compost loo so there's no alfresco fumbling after dark.
From your private decked verandah, watch for roe deer grazing the fields, lizards under wood piles and buzzards nesting in the woods that give the site its name. Guests share modern shower rooms, a lounge for rainy days and a well-equipped communal kitchen, though the owners also offer cooked breakfasts and evening meals on request. It's a tiny site – just a handful of pitches – where campfires are allowed and the vibe is wonderfully peaceful, ten minutes from Chard and minutes from the A303.

Absolutely amazing little hideaway nests! Couldn’t recommend this place more, we had the most special of stays, Vanessa and Sean were extremely accommodating. Fresh bread and homemade marmalade on arrival, plush rooms with all the luxury furnishings, comfortable beds, warm heaters, gorgeous duvets. Ample outside furniture and a fully stocked common room with a brilliant modern kitchen, sofas and a big TV, perfect for groups. They even accommodated our horse and allowed her to graze in front of our nest. The breakfast was beyond our expectations, locally sourced produce enthusiastically cooked by Sean. It was lovely to speak with both Vanessa and Sean, both incredibly welcoming and the stay felt very homely. Thank you both so much!!

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is something special. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking surrounded by nature, with wildlife all around, it felt like a proper escape from reality. The accommodation itself was just incredible. Beautifully decorated, cosy yet spacious, and finished to such a high standard. Everything was spotless you can tell a lot of care goes into keeping the rooms not just clean, but genuinely welcoming and comfortable. What really made the experience though was the host. So attentive, friendly, and full of helpful information about the area nothing was too much trouble, and it made the whole stay feel personal rather than just a booking. For what you get, the value for money is amazing. It’s one of those rare places that exceeds expectations in every way. I’ll 100% be coming back already looking forward to my next stay.

Had such an amazing and relaxing stay! Really comfortable place in the most gorgeous surroundings. Initially came here because of its proximity to the Jurassic coast and wanted to do some exploring and fossil hunting with the family but would go back for the accommodation alone. Whole family (and our dogs!) had the best weekend.
