About Barley Hill Pod

When you're after a peaceful couples' retreat in gorgeous Somerset countryside, you'd be hard-pushed to find anywhere as romantic as Barley Hill Pod, tucked into a private farm field between Chard and Ilminster. This single adults-only glamping pod delivers proper escapism: imagine relaxing in the hot tub (April to October) under the stars, listening to the stream burble and owls hoot across the barley fields.

Inside, the wooden pod packs in tip-top facilities – a kitchen with oven, hob and microwave, a comfy corner sofa facing the flatscreen TV, a solid oak bar with stools, and a double bed. The ensuite has a hot shower and heated towel rail. Outside, your wooden-fenced garden includes decking with alfresco seating and a barbecue, overlooking a pond where resident ducks splash about. Time to pour a glass of wine and watch for woodpeckers, nuthatches and kingfishers flitting past – the only disturbance might be the occasional tractor trundling by.
