About Kingsmuir Hotel
A garden with a picnic area and BBQ sets the Kingsmuir Hotel apart from the average Cheltenham stay. This small hotel on Pittville Circus has just 12 rooms, kept simple and comfortable rather than showy, with some looking out over parkland. It suits guests who want a quiet, low-key base rather than a grand statement address.
Facilities stretch further than the room count might suggest, with a restaurant and bar on site, free breakfast, an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna, plus laundry service, luggage storage and a lift. The hotel also hosts weddings and offers business services, porter and concierge support, and welcomes pets. Free on-site parking is available, though spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival helps.
Beyond the garden, Cheltenham's cultural attractions and surrounding countryside are within easy reach, and nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment options give guests plenty of choice once they venture off the grounds. It's a straightforward, well-equipped hotel for those who value practical extras like a barbecue spot over polish.
What guests say
Perfectly Imperfect. Felt as though I'd been invited to spend time at the home of a good acquaintance. Lots of thought into providing whatever I might need to have a comfortable stay. Hugely welcoming, clean and relaxed space. If buildings have vibes, this one exudes charm, endearing quirk and human warmth. Met a kind and helpful gentleman who was decoratoring downstairs. Another resident I encountered was open & friendly. Communication, instructions & information very good. Very good value for money & thankfully within my current budget.

I had an absolutely dreadful experience at this so-called "hotel," which frankly doesn't even deserve that title. It’s more akin to a rundown hostel than anything else. The location is the only positive thing I can say, but that’s where the praise ends. Upon arrival, there is no front desk—you're expected to contact the owner through a phone number provided to receive the key code to the entrance. The building itself feels like a dilapidated relic from a bygone era, in desperate need of renovation. To make matters worse, there is no actual breakfast. The so-called "breakfast" consisted of a small, sad cereal box tucked away in the cupboard of the room. For the price we paid for just one night, I expected at least a basic selection of food, but instead, I was met with an underwhelming and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone—it's a far cry from the standards of even the most basic hotel.

I definitely wouldn't class this as a hotel. No reception. I didn't see anyone at all. The codes for entry were emailed. The room was OK. Clean and spacious. Very dated. Mattress could do with being replaced, although I did get a reasonable sleep. For what I paid it was OK. Not sure I would stay there again though
