Oakwood Farm - Ash Cottage
Cheshire West and Chester
View on Google MapsPhoto: Oakwood Farm Mews
The Wirral Peninsula sits between Chester and the coast, a landscape of open fields and village roads where countryside feels immediate but the city is only minutes away. Ash Cottage occupies this middle ground at Oakwood Farm Mews, close enough to Chester's Roman walls and riverside walks for an afternoon visit, yet far enough out to wake up to green space. Liverpool, North Wales, and the Wirral's own beaches are all within reasonable reach.
Inside, the cottage spreads across two floors. Downstairs holds the main living space—open-plan with kitchen, dining and lounge areas, and a ground-floor bedroom with shower room. Upstairs is the second bedroom with a full bathroom. Four guests sleep here in total. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly: electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge. A Smart TV, wi-fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. Outside, a private garden and patio come with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue; the hot tub seats four and is yours alone to use. One car can park on site.
The mews sits within Oakwood Farm, which runs a café open 8am to 2pm daily if you want breakfast or lunch without cooking. No smoking inside the cottage.

Based on booking experience alone….! We’ve booked a short, two night stay in the Willow Cottage for Easter Weekend. Peter, Lauren and the Team at Oakwood have made our booking experience super slick and easy. They’ve provided speedy and efficient answers to our many questions! The Team are even allowing us late check out and the possibility of early check in, should they have availability! Based on the helpfulness and efficiency of the booking process alone, we’re expecting and looking forward to a wonderful short break. Will be sure to leave a full review following our stay.

We stayed at The Ash for a week. Myself, wife and 16month old son. The house is beautiful. So clean and tidy. Big comfy beds, nice kitchen, really good showers, private led light hot tub. Only 10 minutes from Chester, the zoo, blue planet, chester oaks and lots more. Very quiet peaceful place. The people who run it are very helpful. Helped us get set up with a cot and high chair for our son. We would highly recommend this place and we will be back.

What a great place! Super comfortable beds, nice and quiet in the night time, the house keeper is great very clean rooms, got a phone call from the office staff the morning of arrival to confirm the booking as we booked last minute, which I thought was a really nice touch as not alot of hotels/ holiday parks do that, great location super easy to find just off the M56, we stayed overnight for our sons first birthday as we were going to Chester zoo which is about a 10 minute drive away and we went to cheshire oaks for dinner which is even closer. Would recommend to anyone, will absolutely be staying again in the future!
