About Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel and Spa

A restaurant serving hearty meals, a bar for evening drinks and a proper cooked breakfast set the tone at the Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel and Spa, on Parkgate Road just outside Chester. Food here is a genuine strong point, and the spa adds further reason to linger, with a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym all on site for guests who want to unwind rather than rush off sightseeing.

The hotel has 63 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Extras include room service, drinks in room, a bridal suite and lift access, while porters and concierge staff are on hand to help with luggage and local knowledge. It's worth noting that parts of the building show their age and could do with some updating, though the overall package still represents reasonable value.

Outside, there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for fine weather, plus a golf course nearby for those wanting a round during their stay. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment can also be found in the surrounding area, and pets are welcome, with free on-site parking provided throughout.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms are a little tired but thats my only negative point. Food was great, pool is nice but what really made the stay was the staff who were all so lovely. The manger ((who's name I didnt get, sorry) was so nice and welcoming and couldn't do enough. Big shout out too to Joanne who we got our spa treatment from. She was fab and felt so relaxed after.

We recently stayed at the Mollington Banastre Hotel & Spa, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The location is ideal, especially if you're planning a trip to Chester Zoo, and the hotel’s grounds make it feel like a true escape. We booked a dog‑friendly room, and it exceeded expectations. Spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The open grounds were perfect for taking the dog out, which made the stay even more relaxing. The heated pool, gym and spa facilities were a real highlight. Everything felt inviting, and perfect for unwinding. Food-wise, the hotel really shines. The fish and chips were excellent, and the afternoon tea was a real treat. I was also impressed by the range of gluten‑free options, which were clearly thought through. Service throughout was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I’d highly recommend the Mollington Banastre Hotel & Spa for anyone looking for comfort, great food, and a dog‑friendly stay near Chester. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We recently stayed at Mollington Spa Hotel for a weekend break and had a wonderful time. Travelling as a family of four, it was the perfect location for visiting Chester and exploring the area. Check in was smooth and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and having both a bath and shower was ideal for the family. One of the highlights for us was the food. We chose to eat in the restaurant every evening and were really impressed by the variety and quality. Even as a picky eater, I always found something I enjoyed. Our friends travelled with us and require gluten free options, and the staff were fantastic at catering for this. Breakfast offered a great selection each morning, from cereals and hot food to teas and coffees. We also treated ourselves to the afternoon tea, which was excellent. The cakes are freshly made on site and tasted amazing. The spa and leisure facilities really made the stay special. The heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna were all brilliant, and the separate shallow area for younger children was a lovely addition. The grounds were peaceful and beautifully maintained too. We left feeling relaxed and already looking forward to booking another stay.

I visited here with my family and as I am coeliac I had the GF afternoon tea (AT). It was excellent, the sandwiches were tasty and fresh and not dried up like some GF AT I have had in the past; the scone and cakes were also delicious. Another person on our table had a club sandwich and it was plentiful at a very good price. Staff were all lovely and very attentive, we were greeted with a complimentary refreshing lime and soda. We were early so we sat on the large comfy sofas until our table booking was ready. Our table was in the conservatory overlooking the beautiful gardens. We had a lovely afternoon and plan to return for lunch next time I visit Chester. I 100% recommend a visit here. Hopefully they will tidy up the climbing shrub at the front of the building, as it is a sad sight to see when entering the building and it would look lovely with a bit of colour.
