Riggers Cottage is an 18th-century terraced house positioned right on the water's edge in Bosham, a sailing village where the harbour and countryside meet. The building has the character of its age—exposed beams and an open fire in the living room—but works as a practical family or group base, with parking for three cars and a courtyard garden at the back. Upstairs from ground level, the main sitting space looks across Chichester Harbour, an area of particular importance for wildlife. The top floor holds a king bedroom with its own bathroom; downstairs are two further bedrooms and a second bathroom serving that floor.
The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking rather than holiday shortcuts—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances—opening into a dining room. Bed linen and Wi-Fi are provided, along with heating and electricity; you'll need to bring or hire towels. The front garden has decking and furniture, and there's a barbecue. One dog is welcome. Note that the property sits on tidal water—at high tide the sea reaches within 50 yards, and the access road floods, so arriving and leaving by car needs to work around the tide times.
Bosham Quay is a short walk away, with tea rooms, restaurants and a medieval church. Sandy beaches at Hayling Island and The Witterings lie about 20 minutes' drive. Chichester itself, with its cathedral, theatre and shops, is 10 minutes away by car. Goodwood racecourse and the Weald and Downland Museum are both close by.
