About The Millstream Hotel & Restaurant

The Millstream Hotel & Restaurant sits in Bosham, one of the harbour villages on Chichester Harbour a few minutes' drive west of the city, where a mill stream runs alongside the hotel's gardens and terrace. The bedrooms are spread across the main house and adjoining cottages, giving a mix of traditional and more contemporary rooms depending on where you are placed.

Food is a particular focus here: the Sea School Restaurant holds two AA Rosettes for its modern British cooking, while the more relaxed Marwick's Brasserie serves lighter meals and afternoon tea, including on an outdoor terrace in warmer months. The hotel regularly hosts small celebrations and events alongside its regular guest trade.

Bosham itself, with its tidal creek, sailing club and the church said to have inspired scenes on the Bayeux Tapestry, gives the Millstream a quieter, more coastal feel than a stay in the city centre, at the cost of needing a short drive or taxi into Chichester itself for the cathedral and theatre.

We stayed over on a bed & breakfast deal as a friend was having her birthday dinner there. The greeting, staff, room and gardens were just lovely. It was a short walk down to the local shops, cafes and estuary. As the weather was beautiful we had a nice walk/wander, food, shop and ice cream before checking into our room. Dinner was very tasty with a great selection for our varied tastes as a party of 6. My friends cocktail of choice is the Bellini but I would HIGHLY recommend the Lemon Drop 🍋 😋 The breakfast selection was both traditional and varied as well as yummy.

"My experience at the Millstream Hotel reflects a high level of operational discipline and professional service. The management and staff maintain a consistent standard that is both commendable and rare in today’s hospitality landscape. The quality of the service provided—from the attention to detail in the culinary execution (specifically the Souffle, Fish & Chips, and Lamb) to the seamless coordination of the front-of-house operations—is a clear indication of a well-orchestrated service philosophy. The staff demonstrates a composed and professional demeanour that aligns perfectly with a disciplined and high-standard establishment. This is an environment where hospitality is treated as a professional craft rather than a routine service. For those who value operational excellence, systematic management, and an environment governed by precision and courtesy, Millstream Hotel stands as a definitive reference point."

Fantastic food but rooms in hotel not as good. 1st room smelt damp and musty. Room furniture basic. Walls thin you could hear neighbours coughing and blowing nose and tv. Wind rattles sash windows. Had tried to improve room with curtains and bathroom updated.
