About Cotswolds Camping

Tucked into the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Chipping Norton, this family-run site puts you within easy reach of Blenheim Palace (15 minutes' drive), woodland rambles, and classic market-town charm. Charlbury village – with its pubs, cafés and food shops – is a pleasant walk away, while Charlbury Station whisks you into Oxford in quarter of an hour. Stratford-upon-Avon and Bicester Village's outlet shopping lie within 45 minutes by car.

Back on site, campers rave about spotless facilities: hot showers, a well-stocked kitchen, and a welcoming café-bar keep spirits high after a day on the footpaths. The play area entertains younger guests, and both barbecues and campfires are allowed, so evenings feel properly outdoorsy. Dogs are welcome year-round, adding to the relaxed vibe.

Pitches range from small non-electric plots to large electric grass spaces, though some reviewers note they can feel a touch snug. Still, with such sparkling loos and genuinely helpful staff, most forgive the squeeze and settle in happily.

What a gem! Great value for money! Facilities were top notch, I was very impressed with the shower (was nice and hot - needed during March weather) it has heaters inside the building and big bathrooms with hairdryers. There is a small shop on site but advise buying food as it only has things like bbqs, Marshmallows, some hobby/activities to buy. Owners and staff were friendly and helpful. There are set spaces for the camp and when booking you can choose which field you'd like to stay in based on how many people you have. The kitchen facilities were clean, we only used the fridge but were impressed with what was provided.

Stayed at this site at Easter as part of a large group with several camping pitches, glamping lodges and glamping barn. Those with camping pitches found out on arrival that the site had double booked pitches via their own site and pitchup - we ended up having to share pitches as there wasn’t enough space - no refund or goodwill gesture offered. Those with lodges and barn suffered from lack of heating, lack of electric. On the 3rd night there was no electric at all - site blamed Scottish power and an outage in the area, but there was no outage. Site suffered constantly with low power all weekend - cafe staff had to delay food coming out due to too much power being drawn. Cafe staff lovely, felt sorry for site warden running around trying to sort a site plagued with issues, with no support - but then he disappeared never to be seen again. Site owner (?) more interested in talking about his expensive cars and book writing than sorting out the site issues. No hot water in showers every morning, bins overflowing, electric extension cables trailed across site - health and safety?! We contacted the site as a collective after staying, however they did not even dignify with a response. As a group, we spent thousands of pounds on a weekend that was awful. Not so much as an apology or goodwill gesture offered! I personally stay in this area 3-4 times a year and would never return.

So having read lots of negative reviews I felt i had to write a current review on how amazing this site is! Lovely big pitches. Spotless toilets and showers with hairdryers and yes there was plenty of toilet rolls. My hubby and I + 2 Chihuahuas visited this week. Had to wait on arrival as no sign of the warden but another couple managed to call him and he told us our pitch numbers but after that it was a lovely stay . Clean quiet. Met some lovely people. Fab play area if you have kids. Live music on a Saturday. Some charming gypsy vargos. Group fields for families. We will definitely be back. Honestly couldnt fault it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great place for families, well appointed campground with playground. Even had live music and a bar at the cafe the night we stayed. The Woodstock camping pond was clean and spacious for 2 people. Only down side was that the toilet paper ran out Sat night, and was still not replaced by late morning Sunday. Our supplier has not deli ered and it says bring tp on the website are poor excuses! There is no one actually on site if you have any problems with the campsite as the cafe is a separate business.
