About Mayfield Park
Tucked into the Churn valley just outside Cirencester, this family-run site makes an excellent Cotswolds base. Mayfield Park keeps things spick and span – reviewers consistently praise the immaculate pitches (choose from sloping grass or fully-serviced hardstanding) and spotless, heated facilities. The dedicated dog field is a hit with four-legged guests, while walkers can strike out through surrounding fields and lanes straight from the gate, or pick up the Thames Path a short drive away.
Staff earn regular mentions for their helpfulness, and practicalities are well sorted: there's a launderette, chemical disposal, even a communal freezer for ice packs. A bus to Cirencester and Cheltenham stops virtually at the entrance, handy for car-free exploring of market-town streets and honey-stone villages.
The honest drawback? Road noise from the nearby A-road can intrude, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. Still, sunset views over the fields and easy access to classic Cotswold scenery make this a solid, unpretentious choice for tourers and families.

What visitors say
We stopped for five nights and the location was ideal for visiting the delights of the Cotswolds. The facilities were clean and tidy. The pitch was excellent with hedges all around plus water. Due to the size of the site, maybe a 2nd shower block might be a good addition. and yes, the road noise was significant but didn't put us off that much. Convenient bus stop outside the entrance of the site to get you up to Cheltenham or down to Cirencester. Bus No. 51.

A constant road noise from the nearby dual carriageway is difficult to ignore. Steep access hill to site. Pitches very small and much too close together. Might have been able to overlook these things but it seems there is no policy about inconsiderate people turning up very late in the evening to pitch up, slamming doors and generally being a holes. Site wasn’t full so dread to think what it would be like at high season.

Really friendly staff. Poor WiFi. Good pitch with a electric for my campervan. Clean toilet and shower block. Walked the mile to the nearest pub, which served reasonable quality food.
