About Abbey Home Farm
Spread across 1,600 acres of certified organic farmland near Cirencester, Abbey Home Farm is everything a rural escape should be: peaceful, off-grid, and wonderfully self-sufficient. Pitches scatter across green fields and a magical woodland glade, both with Cotswolds views that justify the wheelbarrow trek from the car park. Fire pits crackle after dark (just keep it down past 10pm), and the rustic facilities – compost loos, gas showers, farm borehole water – are all built from reclaimed materials.
The real draw, though, is barely having to leave. The farm shop brims with home-grown organic veg, farm-reared meat for the barbecue, and a licence to boot, while the on-site café does a lovely line in veggie lunches and homemade cakes. Visitors often mention the genuinely friendly welcome and the chance to learn about organic farming methods firsthand. It's gloriously uncommercial – think wheelbarrows, not wifi – but if you're after back-to-basics charm with excellent food on tap, this is hard to beat.

Lovely place, for locals and long-distance drivers alike, as it's just a couple of minutes off the A419/A417. A Cotswold haven full of lovely produce and homewares, and they even sell upcycled vintage furniture from India! The cafe food is organic, mostly vegetarian, and delicious, with a huge array of drinks too, including home-made lassi.

We had the most fabulous stay at Abbey Home Farm. It was our first visit to the organic farm, and we camped for the weekend in the most stunning field overlooking the farmland, right next to a beautiful wildflower meadow. The views were breathtaking. It was only a short walk to the farm shop, where you can pick up everything you need for your stay. We followed the advice on the website not to do too much shopping beforehand, and we’re so glad we did—the shop is an absolute treat, full of wonderful local and organic produce. The weather certainly helped, but the friendly, welcoming staff made the experience even more special. We hired a fire pit and bought kindling from the shop, and there were wheelbarrows available to help transport everything to our pitch. The fact that there are no cars in the camping field made the whole place feel peaceful, safe, and truly magical. We also stayed for the annual farm open day on Sunday, which was a real treat. We enjoyed a tractor ride around the farm and learned more about the organic farming methods, as well as the animals and crops. It was a fantastic experience and made us appreciate even more the care and passion that goes into running the farm. It’s also just a short drive to the beautiful Cirencester Park, where there are lots of activities for children, including the famous marble trail. This is such a wonderful place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature. We came home feeling completely refreshed and can’t wait to return.

Stayed two nights on their campsite which involves going out from the farm shop, back on the main road and then up to the gate to the adjacent field. Provided with the option to two different areas, one tents only and the other allowing to a vehicle next to your tent. Pictureque view of the countryside from the campsite where you can see the endless fields. Quiet and peaceful. The washing and toiletry facilities are located in the adjacent woods. Two showers, both with hot water though a little tempemental. Whilst the showers are in an enclosed unit, part of the unit is open to the elements. Whilst we were there, there no queueing to use these facilities. There are four toilets available where you are required to sit down for both genders as the wee goes down the tube at the front and the poo drops down below. But if you have really good aim, you can stand up to pee. There are several steps to access the toilets. There is drinking tap and sinks to wash up with. We didn't use the shop or restaurant facilities. Happy to stay here if we are in the area again.
