Tucked into the sheltered garden of an 1784 canal cottage, this tiny two-pitch site occupies a rather special spot: you're just 50 metres from the Thames Head spring (visible October to April) and right on the Thames Path, making it ideal for walkers tackling that long-distance route or exploring the Wysis Way and Cotswold Way nearby. The grass pitching area opens onto a sun terrace with picnic tables and colourful pots, creating a cosy, quiet atmosphere perfect for stargazing on clear nights.
Facilities are simple but thoughtful: a toilet and washbasin, fridge, charging points for phones and torches, plus tea and coffee-making kit and a barbecue (grab supplies in Cirencester, 10 minutes away). There's no hot water and no room for pets, but with two pubs within walking distance and the Cotswolds National Landscape on your doorstep, this peaceful little base delivers genuine charm for those content to keep things low-key.

A warm welcome from Ann and nothing too much trouble, quite the opposite. Absolutely spotless throughout. The room had so many extras, hospitality tray and basket full of treats, all complimentary, so thoughtful. The garden was at exhibition standard and the views great. A short walk across the next field brought you to the source of the Thames. The Thames Head pub just up the road was so good we went both nights of our stay, highly recommended. Without doubt one of the best short stays of recent times. Thank you Ann x

Received such a warm welcome from Chris and helpful advice re local walks, place to eat etc. Lovely clean and cheerful room. It’s quiet even though it’s next to the road. Fantastic location for exploring the Cotswolds and those walking the Thames path - the source is right outside!

Chris made us feel very welcome. He recommended local pubs, restaurants, attractions... 5min drive from beautiful Cirencester. Thames Head Wharf is clean, comfortable, warm and peaceful place, better than staying at at busy hotel.

Thames Head Wharf is really close to the Source of Thames, and has a lovely view across the fields. Chris was an absolute star and helped us with completing our trip along the Thames Path. Thanks for going the extra miles! :)
