About North Lakes Campsite
If you spend your working life tethered to screens and schedules, North Lakes Campsite offers a genuine off-grid reset. This pop-up site on a working farm north of the Lake District proper delivers sweeping views across rural landscapes toward distant mountain peaks, with an indescribable peace that comes from proper remoteness. Fair warning: there's no running water whatsoever—bring bottled supplies or stock up en route—and facilities stretch to a portable toilet. It can feel spartan, especially if you're expecting creature comforts.
But the trade-off is space and tranquillity. The expansive field welcomes families, dogs, and motorcyclists alike, with room enough for kite-flying or kickabouts without crowding your neighbours. You're only a ten-minute stroll from the nearest pub (serving seasonal West Cumbrian fare) and a short drive from Cockermouth's shops, swimming pool, and proper amenities. Nearby walking routes, climbing, and canoeing options keep restless campers occupied—though many find the best entertainment is simply switching off.

What visitors say
North Lakes is a great caravan site that is quiet and peaceful with a great view. The only downside is that it has a gravel path and access road around the park, which makes it difficult for anyone with a disability to get around or anyone who wants to come onsite with a motorbike or pushbike.

The NLCP has become my favourite place to be, the park is kept clean and tidy the management team ( Stuart and Rose) in place are very friendly and informative. The view from our van, whether it is an early sunrise or a dusky sunset, always impresses me. peaceful and stress free....just what we wanted.

We have been a caravan owner for 2 years. The park is very peaceful and tranquil all the vans and lodges have superb views of the Tarn right in front of you. The sunsets not to be missed. The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and always ready to give their time and help at all times. North Lakes have wonderful walks to explore and all on your doorstep.

North Lakes is a beautiful place in heaven on earth. We have been here for 18 years now. We both love this place, and so do our dogs 🐕. We've made many special friends over the years, and have made such good memories. Thanks to Rose, and Stuart who go out of their way to help anytime.
