The Old Bakery is a single-storey conversion in rural Essex, a few miles from Colchester town centre. Opening directly into a combined living and dining room, the layout keeps everything on one level: the bedroom and bathroom are just steps away, with a kitchen that has a full range of appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The original beams from its former use remain visible throughout.

You get a private parking space and access to a terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue. Beyond this sits a shared 2½-acre garden and orchard with the sister property on site—space enough to wander among the apple trees or simply sit and watch for wildlife. A pond is also in the grounds. A pub is within a mile's walk, and the historic centre of Colchester is a short drive away with its castle, cobbled streets and zoo. Constable Country begins just 3 miles off, encompassing Dedham Vale and Flatford Mill.
