Best. Castle. Ever. This castle is amazing. So many architectural delights. Large but not pretentious. Nooks and crannies, spiral staircases, fascinating rooms. I’m not usually a big fan of the audio tour guide but this one is superb (and really funny). Lovely grounds, so much to see. I adore this castle. Staff was also terrific. Bravo Doune! Bonus points if you like Monty Python or Outlander. Wonderful! Would give 10 stars if I could.

If your a castle fan is it a really cool place to stop in and see. Loads of fun information and a really great audio tour. If your a Monty Python fan its a must. The audio tour also covers loads of stuff for Monty Python and loved every second of it. It had me wanting to reenact scenes from the movie! Just amazing

A lovely castle, especially for fans of TV shows and movies (like Monty Python or Outlander). During our visit, it was undergoing some partial renovations, and since we were short on time and heading towards Stirling Castle, we decided not to go inside. However, even just walking around the exterior is worth a quick stop. There is a parking lot on-site, which is free with a voluntary donation. That said, the parking lot is quite small considering how popular the place is and how many visitors come here. A nice, quick historic stop!

A very nice place, small but worth visiting. Well preserved and managed. The panoramic views are beautiful and it is located in a peaceful place. A must see for 'Outlander' and Monty Python fans
