About Pier Cottage Caravan Park

Pier Cottage Caravan Park sits just outside Coniston, offering a peaceful base for exploring the southern Lake District. The site keeps things simple and well-maintained, with electric hook-ups, clean shower blocks and WiFi to keep you connected. Dogs are welcome, and the family-friendly atmosphere makes it easy to settle in for a few nights while you tackle nearby fells or potter around Coniston village.

The location is the real draw here — you're close enough to Coniston Water for kayaking or gentle lakeside walks, yet tucked away from the busiest tourist hubs. Some visitors note the facilities can feel a touch basic if you're after more modern amenities, but for a no-fuss stopover with good access to the fells, it does the job nicely.

This camp is so delightful. We spent 4 glorious nights here in late September and had the best weather, full moon helped.. Friendly and right on the lake. Swimming every day. Facilities a bit scarce. 2 toilets and 1 shower for ladies, guessing the same for men. No washing up area. There is Waste disposal though. The location of this park far outweighs the drawbacks. If you can get on this site, do it. You won't be disappointed! Dogs allowed but must be on the lead. Lovely areas to enter the lake. All private access. Truly fabulous!

I can't praise this site enough. A great place to stop, great views over the lake and 100 mts from the Bluebird Café. But there is history to go with the great views. Donald Campbell launched Bluebird from this site for some of his record attempts. The slipway, winches and mooring are there to see. The site owner is just lovely. The site is clean and tidy in a woodland sort of way. A short walk into Coniston itself and you have shops, cafes and of course, Ruskin Museum, where you will find Bluebird. All around are walks and boating experiences. Don't miss this one.

Fabulous site. Well laid out and good facilities all hardstanding and power and water point at each pitch. Great views of the lake with private access. Very friendly and helpful owner who makes everyone feel very welcome.
