We visit here regularly as local residents and would highly recommend it to both visitors and those living in the area. The drinks are always served perfectly chilled, and there is an excellent selection of drinks, with new varieties frequently available to try. The staff are second to none, consistently providing a warm welcome and exceptional customer service. The food is equally impressive, whether you're looking for a light snack or a full meal, with every dish prepared to a high standard. Simply delicious 😋. The riverside views and beautiful green surroundings are truly exceptional and not to be missed. The picturesque scenery creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. While I have not yet had the opportunity to stay on the campsite, it is something I am very much looking forward to doing in the future. Overall, this is a fantastic venue that I would highly recommend.

After such an amazing stay last year, we decided to bring more family along this year to share the experience. Unfortunately, we regretted that decision as the experience was nothing like before. On arrival, we checked into the Poppy Patch bell tent and were disappointed to find it fell well below acceptable cleanliness standards. There were empty bottles and rubbish left under multiple beds, suggesting the tent had not been properly cleaned between guests. Staff were asked to remove these items, however we later discovered an unwrapped condom hidden beneath one of the rugs, alongside a drink spill left on the floor. This was particularly unacceptable given that we had children staying in the tent. The toilet facilities were also disappointing. While outdoor toilets are understandably basic, the toilet seat and surrounding areas were frequently soaked with urine throughout the day. During busy periods, facilities like these should be checked and cleaned more regularly. When we made our booking, the accommodation was advertised as including fairy lights and there was no information stating that only one vehicle could be parked near the tent. We later discovered there were no lights provided at all and additional vehicles had to be parked much further away. Guests rely on advertised information when booking and preparing for their stay, so this was frustrating and inconvenient. We have since noticed that the website information appears to have been updated regarding parking arrangements. We also found the parking rules confusing and inconsistently applied, as other vehicles were seen parked on nearby grass areas that did not appear to be used for tent support. Another disappointment was the general upkeep around the pub and camping areas. Empty glasses and rubbish remained left outside throughout the night, creating an untidy impression. The wider camping areas also appeared poorly maintained, with overgrown grass and a general lack of upkeep that made the stay feel messier than expected. While we were told the grass had recently been attended to, this unfortunately did not reflect the condition of the site during our stay. We also experienced uncomfortable interactions with staff. Late one evening we were approached regarding noise levels, which we understand and appreciate as guests should respect quiet hours. However, the manner in which this was handled felt unnecessarily abrupt and intimidating rather than professional or welcoming. The setting itself is beautiful and Wales made for a lovely trip overall, but sadly the cleanliness, lack of advertised facilities, poor upkeep and disappointing hospitality meant this stay fell far below expectations and did not reflect the experience we previously enjoyed here. Sadly, we will not be returning and would no longer feel comfortable recommending this site to friends or family.

You could easily drive past and not give this place a second thought it's a Peaceful retreat next to slow trickling river, soft birds lovely garden to enjoy a quite 🍻 Gluten free food (ask for menu!) Has a campsite but unfortunately for us doesn't cater for dog friendly. Such a shame those irresponsible dog owners leave there mess! And spoil it for the rest of us!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟An Absolute Gem in Corwen! If you’re looking for a getaway that combines genuine hospitality, rustic adventure, and top-tier food, The Crown Inn and Campsite is the place to be. We spent an incredible Easter weekend here with another couple, and it was hands-down one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. Hospitality That Goes Above and Beyond We were originally in a real bind after our initial campsite cancelled on us last minute. However, Derry and Jo truly saved our holiday. Derry actually took the time to call me back personally, and they both decided to squeeze us in so we wouldn't miss out on our trip. They are such lovely, genuine people—nothing was too much trouble, and their helpfulness turned a potential disaster into a fantastic memory. The Food: Local & High Quality We ate at the pub several times, and the quality was consistently high. We were lucky enough to be there for the launch of their new breakfast service, and it was spectacular. You can tell they prioritize locally sourced produce; the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It’s not just "pub grub"—it’s high-quality dining in a relaxed setting. The Campsite Experience The layout of the site is unique and adventurous! The River Crossing: The site is split by a river, and you actually ford the river to reach the hard-standing pitches. It was such a fun, memorable way to start the stay! The Facilities: It’s a basic, back-to-basics site with a compost toilet available. When the pub is open, you have access to internal toilet as well. And they provide firepits Atmosphere: The grounds are very well-maintained, and the pub itself feels incredibly homely and welcoming. The Local Vibe One of the highlights was the weekend pub quiz. It’s a great way to spend an evening, and the locals are some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. We felt like part of the community within hours of arriving. Summary: Whether you’re there for the fun river crossing, the incredible local breakfast, or just a pint by the fire, Jo and Derry will make sure you’re looked after. We can’t thank them enough for making our Easter weekend so special. We will definitely be back!
