I have been staying here every year since I was a kid, I'm now 40 and have brought my own kids here since they were born, unfortunately my first time really disappointed. Paid much more than previous years yet got much less in terms of caravan quality and pitch placement. Despite being located on the newest part of of the site and paying much more than previous years for what we believed would be worth it, the caravan was a disappointment and situated amongst much older and dated caravans. After over 30years of holidaying here with family it has definitely let its standards slide, despite massively increased pricing. Unfortunately this seems to be the norm, multi million pound companies buying smaller thriving companies and destroying them. Upon receiving our welcome pac and keys, we found cereal on the floor, food crumbs on the furniture, used toilet roll around the base of the toilet and behind the sink, splattered toothpaste on the mirror, dirty food soiled cutlery, glasses etc in the drawers and cupboards. When we reported our disappointment at the customer service desk, the lady didn't seem interested at all, she said that if we left the caravan then it would be cleaned properly, "shouldn't it had been already, for 2 grand for 2 weeks"??? We went out for a couple of hours and returned to a better smelling caravan, carpets and floor cleaned, yet upon lifting the cushions on the seating area finding old crisps, pasta cigarette wrapping etc it was just wrong. Just over 2 grand, to stay in a caravan in Wales for 2 weeks and they could even be arsed cleaning it, unfortunately we won't be coming back. Multi million pound companies buying smaller thriving businesses and destroying them, disgusting and very disappointed.

Just like to say a massive thank you to staff on the front desk. They went above and beyond for me when I had a problem with a private hire. Ever so thankful. And had an amazing weekend kids truly enjoyed every minute, entertainment staff are so brilliant and lovely with the kids. Definitely will be booking again.

My experience of golden sands is positive although I think there could be more available on site for the older children. Soft play was available but has gone I think this would be good to bring back to keep the little ones entertained. The play park could do with being modernised. The site itself is kept nice and well maintained. The staff are lovely and very helpful The park beach hut when open is a positive, could do with a wider selection and snacks for the kids. Entertainment in the evening is a bit hit and miss but when good it is a nice evening Its not a far walk to other amenities in the area.

A family friendly holiday park. To be avoided if you crave peace and quiet. The narrow road, just off a busy junction, into the park can be annoying, and there is only one barrier for getting in and going out. This leads to congestion. That aside the park is well positioned giving access to the seafront and beach. You can walk for miles in either direction once out on the coastal path. Knightley's funfair is a short walk away down the coastal path. The park entertainment is innovative - silent discos, quizzes you do on your phone, plus the usual diet of bingo and singers. There is an amusement arcade and the clubhouse does reasonable food (including vegan options). There is also a launderette onsite, a swimming pool, and a large children's play area. I take issue with the park's 'do not feed the seagulls' stance. These are red listed birds. Humans have over fished for decades, and took natural habitat away from these beautiful, intelligent birds. We should be helping them in any way we can and humans make far more mess, leave more rubbish, and are noisier than any seagull trying to survive. There are plenty of shops nearby (including an Asda supermarket) and a Costa Coffee a short drive away in the retail park. If you have a large noisy family then this park is ideal for you - just please be nice to the seagulls'. If you are after a bit of peace and quiet, then either stay out of season, or stay somewhere else. Out of season it is much quieter and you can really enjoy the coastal walks. At popular times you will be disturbed at all hours by people slamming car doors, arguing loudly, of kids screaming at each other. You also constantly hear the noise of kids running up and down inside the caravans. For some reason this noise just carries and after several hours of hearing it you can't help but get annoyed. Rhyl, Towyn, and Prestatyn all have plenty of things to amuse any person and this park is well located for you to explore each of them.
