What visitors say
Hard to find due to signing, can only see the sign if you was standing over the road. Caravan spotless, never seen a caravan so clean. The steps wasn't very dog friendly. Went to the beach but closed with a gate but walked to the next gate/steps and beach was fine. My dog loved the beach and great to be on the doorstep. Didn't buy passes as didn't want to leave the dog. Also, not much on site. 2 bars, chippy, kids park (very good) and swimming pool. Chippy on site not great, (sloppy fish). Went out every day to rhyl beach...£1.50 for hour parking and plenty of shops. Found a great chippy and the harbour pub (hungry horse). Loved the 20 mph speed limit, easy to get out. Beginning of May so not much open. No Free WiFi, it would be £6 a day. Staff lovely at reception. Loved the fire. Oh never seen the inside of a kettle so clean. Excellent job on the cleanliness all round. Very quiet, (early May.) Was a good break over all. Can't park next to caravan but spaces for parking. Mattress's very good quality. TV, basic channels. Would go back again.

A family friendly holiday park. To be avoided if you crave peace and quiet. The narrow road, just off a busy junction, into the park can be annoying, and there is only one barrier for getting in and going out. This leads to congestion. That aside the park is well positioned giving access to the seafront and beach. You can walk for miles in either direction once out on the coastal path. Knightley's funfair is a short walk away down the coastal path. The park entertainment is innovative - silent discos, quizzes you do on your phone, plus the usual diet of bingo and singers. There is an amusement arcade and the clubhouse does reasonable food (including vegan options). There is also a launderette onsite, a swimming pool, and a large children's play area. I take issue with the park's 'do not feed the seagulls' stance. These are red listed birds. Humans have over fished for decades, and took natural habitat away from these beautiful, intelligent birds. We should be helping them in any way we can and humans make far more mess, leave more rubbish, and are noisier than any seagull trying to survive. There are plenty of shops nearby (including an Asda supermarket) and a Costa Coffee a short drive away in the retail park. If you have a large noisy family then this park is ideal for you - just please be nice to the seagulls'. If you are after a bit of peace and quiet, then either stay out of season, or stay somewhere else. Out of season it is much quieter and you can really enjoy the coastal walks. At popular times you will be disturbed at all hours by people slamming car doors, arguing loudly, of kids screaming at each other. You also constantly hear the noise of kids running up and down inside the caravans. For some reason this noise just carries and after several hours of hearing it you can't help but get annoyed. Rhyl, Towyn, and Prestatyn all have plenty of things to amuse any person and this park is well located for you to explore each of them.

My experience of golden sands is positive although I think there could be more available on site for the older children. Soft play was available but has gone I think this would be good to bring back to keep the little ones entertained. The play park could do with being modernised. The site itself is kept nice and well maintained. The staff are lovely and very helpful The park beach hut when open is a positive, could do with a wider selection and snacks for the kids. Entertainment in the evening is a bit hit and miss but when good it is a nice evening Its not a far walk to other amenities in the area.

Just like to say a massive thank you to staff on the front desk. They went above and beyond for me when I had a problem with a private hire. Ever so thankful. And had an amazing weekend kids truly enjoyed every minute, entertainment staff are so brilliant and lovely with the kids. Definitely will be booking again.
