About Lyons Oakfield Caravan Park

Kinmel Bay sits between Rhyl and Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast, and Lyons Oakfield Caravan Park is a family-run site in the heart of it. The park keeps its caravans and grounds clean and secure, with a ball cage for children. Showers are available on site.

What makes the location work is proximity to everything: the beach is a short walk away, as is the Magpie & Stump Bar & Restaurant and other local attractions. The park itself has a takeaway, bar serving food, and a cabaret club with lounge bar for entertainment. Note that facilities are fairly basic, so it suits those after a simple seaside base rather than resort-style amenities.

Worse experience ever booked a accessible caravan was advised three times it had a hoist as I got my mum to confirm it we arrived at the van was a bit of a kerb so struggled getting up the ramp was a struggle as it was steep if you are elderly and on your own do not book took two to get the wheelchair up the ramp limited space on the decking struggled to manoeuvre. Because the hoist wasnt a hoist my mum rented one for £700 that was a struggle as the beds have been reinforced so the hoist wouldn’t even go under the bed my dying father was in agony my mum couldn’t wait to go home and Lyon’s didn’t even return our call regarding the hoist I explained to the house team we was advised it was a hoist and they should know the difference it is a grab rail I asked as a good will gesture if they would pay half towards the hoist we got no return call or an apology thinks got worse went in the club no parasols outside no air con in the club it was during the heatwave so went to palins the shower was very slippery my mum booked this caravan because of the hoist which it did not have I explained my mum was very upset infact she was heartbroken which caused me and my sister to get upset my dad is terminally ill and it was there last holiday it’s not about the money they lied and left us in a total mess my father had to wait 3 hours for a hoist to be delivered and not one person from management returned our call or said sorry things that don’t normally bother me the fire and carbon alarms were broken the caravan next to us had lots of cctv cameras patio door broken sliding door very hard to push open shower flooded oven door broken and held in place by the cupboard door the club very exspensive we went next door the only positive is the shop was reasonable priced and the lady was very nice my grandson loved her and the homemade cakes shame on you Lyon’s you left a disabled terminally ill man in agony and ruined his last ever holiday

We hired a private Caravan H119 on the site. I would tell people not to book this Caravan because it was not cleaned properly before we stayed here. I found crisps in between the sofa and the bed linen had not been changed. Also the bed base was broken and you could feel the springs on the double bed. Also you could not keep the front door open because there was no clip there to secure it. And the seating area is not very comfortable.

Family Wyer

Stayed in a private rent van ,but the site was dead shut up unless football was on !!!! On the one occasion it was open the fancy top up card for arcade failed to load, staff couldn't help or refund . It took a phone call and a visit to winkups to get it resolved two days later. Distinct lack of staff and bins !!!!! Stayed here many times years ago back for the first time in almost two decades WON'T be back again.

Jake was amazing helping us find the correct caravan for our budget. He was very knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble for him.
