Photo: Mother Ivey's Bay Holiday Park

Bay Adventures is a ground-floor cottage sleeping four at Mother Ivey's Bay Holiday Park, between Newquay and Padstow on the north Cornwall coast. The open-plan living space contains a sitting area with Freeview TV, dining zone, and kitchen equipped with electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. One bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6in), the other a bunk arrangement with a double base and single above. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included, and the property benefits from electric central heating.

A front garden with picnic bench looks onto on-site parking 50 yards away. The park is within a mile of a pub. This location puts you within easy reach of Harlyn Sands, Portcothan and Treyanon Bay—all sandy beaches popular for both families and water sports enthusiasts. Padstow is close by for restaurants and galleries, and the Camel Trail cycle route runs through nearby woodland. No smoking inside the cottage.

A lovely caravan and campsite with its own beach, great play area for children up to 12 years. Friendly staff and well equipped shop on site. Hoping to return next year.

Best campsite in the world! Stunning beach, beautiful clean grounds, well maintained. Have camped and stayed in a caravan, both fabulous, visited 5 or 6 times now, never gets old. Love it!!!

Stayed a few nights here. Very expensive for what it is £47 a night to camp. Beach is nice but every beach is on that side and camping the other places i stayed was atleast £20 a night cheaper. Wifi shocking and no signal so couldnt even watch tv. Next door resort has things to do tho which is a good job. As nothing else walking distance specially with my pregnant partner.

I feel a little sad in leaving this review as historically I have had a very positive experience at Mother Ivey's. It is a lovely site but sadly we cannot stay here now. I have been on many family holidays here and had a lovely time, and had booked a stay here for July to quietly celebrate a family member's graduation by the beach after they finish their Masters this month. Quite regrettably, however, we would have to book two seperate pitches for 4 of us to stay at Mother Iveys. This just simply isn't affordable and I cannot understand why this is the case. Their policy to only allow couples and family bookings is difficult to understand in this scenario. Our booking consisted of 2 sisters and their partners. We are very much part of the same family but unfortunately not in the eyes of the family bookings policy on this occasion. I have phoned their reception and spoke to somebody who was very polite and easy to talk to - however the explanation for why we would need two separate pitches seemed inadequate. I was advised that this is the policy set out in the terms and conditions. I asked for the motivation for this policy, so I could at least understand it better but they were unable to provide an explanation at all. The receptionist seemed very understanding but it seems there would not be any way that we would be able to stay at Mother Iveys this summer. I had hoped that explaining that we are a family and have spent many happy holidays at Mother Ivey's might help our case, but unfortunately not. Sadly, the only reason I can see as to why a small family group of 4 would require 2 pitches is to squeeze the family for as much money as possible for their stay. I sincerely hope this is not the case, but based on my experience, this is the conclusion I am forced to draw. I hope that this policy is reviewed soon and that anybody else who might be interested in have a small camping holiday in a nice coastal location is able to do so without being charged double for the privilege. We have been promised a full refund which we do appreciate. But it would have been much more appreciated if we were able to book a stay with Mother Ivey's without being charged double for a reason that we simply cannot understand.

Visitors say this holiday park offers stunning beach access and well-kept grounds, with many pitches providing sea views. They also highlight the clean and well-maintained restrooms and showers, along with a convenient on-site shop and bakery. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the dog-friendly environment.
