Maple Barn sits in rural Mawla, positioned for easy reach of Portreath and Porthtowan's sandy beaches where surf lessons and equipment hire are available. The Coast to Coast Mineral Tramway runs nearby for walking and cycling; the National Trust coastal path is close at hand. Falmouth, Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum lie within a short drive, alongside woodland walks, cycle routes and a scattering of National Trust properties.
The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms: one kingsize and two rooms with paired single beds. Downstairs holds a living room with smart TV and DVD player, a kitchen with electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. A utility room with coin-operated tumble dryer is shared with other properties on-site, as is a games room with pool table and darts. Outside, a patio with garden furniture and a large playing field are available. The property has on-site parking and takes two steps to reach the entrance, though 20 steps lead to the car park and field—level access is available as an alternative. No smoking.

Great quiet place to stay with very modern interiors to classic looking buildings.

We had a brilliant week staying in Elm cottage over half term. Lovely dog friendly cottage, spotlessly clean and very cosy. Well equipped kitchen, great games room and a very useful hosepipe and washing line for rinsing wetsuits! The location is very peaceful and makes a great base for exploring both the north and south coast of Cornwall from. Hosts were very welcoming and a couple of minor maintenance issues we reported were sorted the same day. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to return!

Fantastic location and beautifully decorated cottages, which are spotlessly clean. Nicky was so helpful and informative about the area, she also went out of her way to get us extra supplies. Would recommend for a relaxing stay.

We spent a week at Friesian Valley Cottages and loved every minute of it. The location is great, you are 5 mins from the A30 and also a short drive from Porthtowan and Portreath which are nice places to visit and take in their beaches and coastal walks. The cottages are recently refurbished, with everything you need, and they are dog friendly. The cottage was also extremely clean upon our arrival, spotless. The owners are lovely, very responsive to any queries etc, and we were very appreciative of the milk, tea and coffee, and biscuits that greeted our arrival after a long drive. In summary, this is a great place to base yourself and explore the surrounding area, there is loads to see and do, and we were really happy with our choice of cottage; the location, quality of the cottage, and cost all combined to make it a great holiday, so big thanks to Nicky and Fergus and keep up the great work, and we will be back!
