Ash is one of several converted barns at Friesian Valley Cottages, a rural hamlet site near Mawla on the North Cornwall coast. You'll arrive to find an open-plan ground floor where the living, dining and kitchen areas flow into each other—practical for families who want to cook, eat and relax in sight of one another. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a double, two singles, and a bunk room, served by one bathroom with a bath and shower.
The kitchen is fitted for self-catering, with an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included. There's a small patio with seating, and a shared games room on-site (with a pool table, darts and books) alongside a large playing field. A coin-operated tumble dryer is available in the utility room. Parking is on-site, though there are 20 steps to reach the car park and playing field; level access is available as an alternative. The property is non-smoking.
The location puts you minutes from Portreath and Porthtowan's sandy beaches, with surf hire nearby, and close to the Coast to Coast Mineral Tramway and National Trust coastal path for walking. Falmouth and local attractions are a short drive away. The owners live on-site and can offer local advice.

We had a brilliant week staying in Elm cottage over half term. Lovely dog friendly cottage, spotlessly clean and very cosy. Well equipped kitchen, great games room and a very useful hosepipe and washing line for rinsing wetsuits! The location is very peaceful and makes a great base for exploring both the north and south coast of Cornwall from. Hosts were very welcoming and a couple of minor maintenance issues we reported were sorted the same day. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to return!

Fantastic location and beautifully decorated cottages, which are spotlessly clean. Nicky was so helpful and informative about the area, she also went out of her way to get us extra supplies. Would recommend for a relaxing stay.

We spent a week at Friesian Valley Cottages and loved every minute of it. The location is great, you are 5 mins from the A30 and also a short drive from Porthtowan and Portreath which are nice places to visit and take in their beaches and coastal walks. The cottages are recently refurbished, with everything you need, and they are dog friendly. The cottage was also extremely clean upon our arrival, spotless. The owners are lovely, very responsive to any queries etc, and we were very appreciative of the milk, tea and coffee, and biscuits that greeted our arrival after a long drive. In summary, this is a great place to base yourself and explore the surrounding area, there is loads to see and do, and we were really happy with our choice of cottage; the location, quality of the cottage, and cost all combined to make it a great holiday, so big thanks to Nicky and Fergus and keep up the great work, and we will be back!
