The wood burner in the sitting room is the first thing you'll light when you arrive at Henwood Barn. This restored semi-detached property sits on the edge of Bodmin Moor, a few miles from Liskeard, with countryside stretching away behind it. The main living spaces are on the ground floor: a kitchen and dining room where you can cook and eat together, and a separate sitting room where the fire takes centre stage on cooler evenings.
Upstairs are three bedrooms—a kingsize, a twin that converts to a super-kingsize, and a single—sharing one bathroom with a bath and shower. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; the initial load of wood for the burner is too. You have your own parking space and access to a shared garden with seating. One well-behaved dog can come along.
The location works for exploring Bodmin Moor on foot: Golitha Falls, The Cheesewring and various stone circles are within walking distance. For wider family trips, Bodmin Jail, the Eden Project and Lanhydrock are all nearby, and the beaches around Newquay are an hour or so away.

An amazing place with stunning views to the south and landscapes. Friendly and welcoming. We stayed 5 nights in Mole Cottage. We arrived a little early but managed to get settled in quickly. There are narrow lanes in places towards Henwood so take extra care and be prepared to stop at passing places. Everything for cooking and laundry is available in the cottage.

AVOIDIF YOU CAN!!!! Toxic negative energy. Musty smell all over the house in need of updating. All rooms very basic. Kitchen looks nice but extremely basic. The owner is passive aggressive. Made us feel like we were troubling her for staying there. Had dogs barking and yapping all hours. Left dogs outside alone. Upsetting our dog. Cars coming and going from early morning until after midnight. Do not make the mistake we did and call the owner. (Internet went down & we lost TV signal) Unless you want to be shouted at.... Stay away from Henwood Barns! But you can enjoy the landscape with breathtaking views toxic and negative free. Namaste

Enjoyed weekend break here in March. Lovely comfortable accommodation with everything we needed in a superb location for wandering Bodmin moor. Far enough away to be quiet but close enough to be accessible. The owner was super helpful throughout our couple of days. Definitely recommended

We have stayed at Henwood Barns (small barn) twice now, and are due to return again soon. We have always found the cottage to be perfect for our needs. The cottage is clean and very well equipped. The owner is lovely and has always gone out of her way to make sure we had everything we need - even supplying things to help with our toddler twins, so we didn’t have to bring everything with us. Thank you Becca, we’re looking forward to returning soon.
