Rural Cornwall offers quiet countryside living, and Mole Cottage delivers exactly that: a compact, characterful space designed for two people who want to step away from things. The cottage sits on a small site with shared gardens where you can settle outdoors, and there's parking for one car on the grounds.

Inside, the ground floor is a single open-plan room combining living and kitchen areas. A sofa bed and an open fire occupy the living side; cooking happens at an electric hob and oven, with a microwave, fridge and washer-dryer also fitted in. Upstairs, a mezzanine bedroom holds a double bed and looks down into the living space below. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with shower over. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included, along with the initial fuel for the fire—anything more can be bought locally. Slate floors and handmade fittings give the place its particular atmosphere. One dog is welcome, kept on a lead in the shared gardens. No smoking inside.

The cottage suits couples after a quiet break, particularly those drawn to the textures and quirks of an older building rather than something newly fitted out. Arrive after 4pm; checkout is before 10am.
