Little Trevarrack

Photo: Rod James

St Ives sits on one of Cornwall's most dramatic coastlines, where rugged cliffs meet sandy coves and the horizon stretches across the Atlantic. Little Trevarrack is a country-lane cottage from that era, positioned to catch both the quietness of its surroundings and the energy of the town itself—cobbled streets, independent galleries and the Tate are a short drive away, while Carbis Bay's beaches are even closer. The property works as a complete retreat: two bedrooms that can be configured as kingsize or twin, a shower room, living and dining space, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking rather than holiday shortcuts.

The ground floor opens into a living room with a Smart TV and streaming access, alongside a dining room and kitchen with electric oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. Upstairs, both bedrooms offer zip-and-link beds. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. Outside, there's an enclosed garden with patio and seating, a rinse-off area for wetsuits and sandy feet, and parking for two cars. The tumble dryer sits in a beach shed. Dogs stay free, though the cottage itself is non-smoking.

The stretch of coast from here westward—Land's End, Mousehole, Newlyn, Marazion with its castle—forms a natural itinerary for anyone wanting to explore on foot or by car. The St Ives Bay Line runs from nearby Carbis Bay station if you prefer not to drive into town.
