About The Gannet Inn
Included access to the Carbis Bay Hotel spa facilities sets The Gannet Inn apart from a typical St Ives stay, giving guests a proper reason to linger beyond the 20 rooms on offer here. The inn sits on St Ives Road with sea views, en-suite bathrooms, family rooms and the small comforts that make a stay easy, from room service and drinks in the room to free WiFi and luggage storage.
The restaurant and bar are a genuine draw, with a menu that stretches well beyond the usual pub fare and a Sunday roast that regularly gets singled out for praise. Breakfast, packed lunches and kids' meals are all catered for, and there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for warmer days, plus an outdoor swimming pool and on-site spa and sauna. Staff are consistently noted as attentive and the atmosphere is cosy rather than formal, with meeting rooms and business services available for those mixing work with the coast.
St Ives itself is close at hand for beaches, art galleries and coastal paths, and the area also suits golf, fishing, cycling and watersports, with pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Free on-site parking is included, which makes exploring further afield straightforward too.
What guests say
Very elegant decor in public areas and attenyive staff. Good food with menu for all tastes which reflects in the price range. Rooms very comfortable and a nice place for holiday treat. Parking can be tight, especially in the evenings. Spa+pool facilities are not on site but at Carbis Bay Hotel site downhill, close to the beach. Certainly worth a visit.

A wonderful stay at this cosy hotel. Stunning location, food was wonderful and the staff could not be more helpful. Everyone was so kind and friendly, we wished we could have stayed longer! Being able to use the spa facilities at their sister hotel was also a fab way to spend the afternoon.

We dined here whilst staying up the road on holiday in Carbis Bay. Service and food were top notch as were the cocktails we sampled. Staff were attentive without being intrusive and the food was exceptional! Not cheap but good value for money. The deserts particularly were amazing. Will definately stop in again when next in the area.

Ate in the restaurant with my family 15th July and it was lovely. I had the chicken supreme and it was cooked perfectly. Beautiful mash potato and nicely cooked veg. Had some veg sides also which was equally pleasant. Child’s sausage and mash was apparently nice along with another main of duck. The gent announcing the orders to the team (tattoos on arms with some inscription on left arm) ran the kitchen like clockwork and the chefs seemed to work in perfect harmony. They all appeared to cook their individual dishes perfectly and when they delivered the goods to be served up they were presented equally as nice. The only recommendation for improvement I could make and this is a polite observation, is to ensure vegetables are drained/dry and not placed on the plate in a pool of water. But that is a swift and quick fix! Thank you to all who cooked our meal and thank you to the waiting staff for being so pleasant and making our visit welcoming.
