Meadow Nest

Photo: Dee Patel

Truro sits at the heart of Cornwall's waterways, and this Grade II listed house puts you moments from the sea. Meadow Nest is a full property to yourself, sleeping ten across five bedrooms and four bathrooms—the kind of scale that works for two families or a gathering of friends without anyone feeling cramped.

The house wraps around a central stone-walled courtyard garden, which catches the sun and opens to a BBQ area; you can eat outdoors or retreat to a dining room that seats ten, warmed by a feature fireplace. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking—dual ovens, a five-ring hob, American-sized fridge, dishwasher—so meals are straightforward rather than a chore. Elsewhere there's a sitting room with a wood burner, books, board games, and a television. Bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are all covered.

The location matters: Callestick Ice Cream Parlour is nearby, and the beach is within walking distance. Two kayaks and two paddleboards are in the garden for guests to use. The house doesn't allow smoking. Check-in is after 4pm, checkout before 10am.

Our second stay at Meadows Nest and just as perfect as the first! A huge thank you to Kate and Matthew for another wonderful stay — they’re incredibly welcoming and friendly, and it really feels like a home from home. The place is luxurious, beautifully equipped with everything you could need, and the location is ideal for exploring Cornwall. A lovely touch with the beautiful flowers on arrival. The hot tub is a fantastic way to unwind in the evening, and our miniature dachshund absolutely loved it here too. Nearby, Callestick Ice Cream is a great spot for a treat, and Healeys Cider Farm is definitely worth a visit. We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!
