North Cornwall's coastal valleys offer genuine seclusion, and Millook House sits in one of them—the kind of place where a stream runs through the garden and ancient woodland begins beyond the gate. The beach is a short walk away, and the sea is close enough that you can hear it. The property itself is a three-bedroom cottage with a single bathroom, sleeping five people across a king, a twin, and a single bed.
Inside, there's a wood burner for cooler evenings, a record player with vinyl, and a kitchen equipped for straightforward cooking. Wifi and the essentials—heating, linen, towels—are included. The real draw is outside: a private enclosed garden where a stream runs through, fenced for safety, ideal for paddling. From here you can wander to rockpools and the beach, or simply stay put and listen to the water and distant waves. One dog is welcome; smoking is not.
The access is steep—a 30 per cent incline with hairpin bends—and the final 100 metres is rough track, so caravans and low-slung vehicles won't manage it. It's not a place to arrive in the dark without knowing what you're heading towards, but it's exactly the point: the valley's remoteness is what makes it.
