The Looe Valley Line steam railway runs just over a mile away, and Looe itself—a working fishing port with a shingle beach and narrow streets lined with independent shops—is a short drive south. Polperro, another coastal village, lies nearby. For inland exploration, Liskeard has pubs and shops; the countryside around St Keyne is open for walks, with the property set on grounds that include a small lake where otters and birds of prey are sometimes spotted.

Byre Cottage is a single-storey property that sleeps four: a double bedroom, a sofa bed in the living room, and a shower room on the ground floor. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven, gas hob and microwave. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all provided. One car can park on site. One dog stays free; keep it on a lead in the shared grounds and courtyard. A patio area with garden furniture is shared with other cottages on the site. No children under four, and no smoking throughout.

I checked in on the 3rd December 2025 to originally stay for a month as I am between houses and from Hertfordshire. The time was extended to end of January 2026. I had the most wonderful time relaxing with my little 4 legged friend. I stayed in Shire Horse and have to say as a wheelchair user the cottage was easy to manager around inside. Mick and Jan offered a few disabled gadgets to help me including legs to make bed higher. Arms that fitted around the toilet making it easier to get up and down and also a shower chair to sit in. My stay was made easier by the help they offered me. In terms of access this was great around the court yard and if the weather had been dry I would even be able to take my dog to the field for a run. The property ground is best got around by a mobility scooter due to the undulating ground. This bolt hole is so quiet and convenient that I will be back to stay for a holiday. Thank Mick and Jan for your hospitality and for making my stay easier.

A lovely clean property with lots of room for the two of us. We brought cleaning products but need not have bothered as everything supplied. A Morrisons is just a ten minute car ride at Liskeard. Beautiful countryside, very quiet location yet near enough to drive to a host of attractions. We stayed in the Hayloft.

Stayed here in May and came back in August! Absolutely love it here, beautifully barns set in quiet and pretty landscape, with everything you need for your stay. Jan & Mick are wonderful hosts, helpful but leave you to your own devices, couldn't ask for more. Dog friendly with lovely walks next to their beautiful 2 horses. Will be going back as soon as we can! Thank you Mick & Jan for a perfect stay!

Can not recommend Olde Pensipple enough. I am a single parent on holiday with my 12 year old son and from the moment we arrived here and met Jan and Michael we were really made to feel at home right through until we left. Their knowledge of Cornwall and Devon is amazing and i realised very soon that this would not be our only holiday here. The location is a great base for exploring and you have a Morrisons just up the road to stock up for your self catering needs. The accomodation was comfortable and clean throughout with lovely views of the Cornish countryside. Well done Jan and Michael you made a 12 year old boy very happy! 5 stars see you again next year 👍🏻😎
