The Cabin

Photo: MARIE MUFFETT

The Cabin is a ground-floor property sleeping two, comprehensively set up so you arrive to find essentials already in place—bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating all included. The open-plan living space centres on a woodburner, with kitchen facilities for cooking proper meals (gas oven and hob, fridge, washing machine) and a bedroom with a kingsize bed. A cubicle shower serves the sole bathroom. Out front, the garden holds a private hot tub for two, a firepit, barbecue and seating area, plus parking for one car.

Penzance and the broader north Cornish coast lie within reach. Perranporth's beaches and tidal pool sit roughly 2 miles away, suitable for swimming and walking the Southwest Coast Path. Newquay, 6 miles distant, centres on surf culture and has the Blue Reef Aquarium. Inland, St Agnes offers coastal views and historic mining heritage, while Carn Moor Nature Reserve provides quieter walks. The Peppercorn Cafe stands nearby for reference. No smoking is permitted. One dog travels free.

This was an excellent lunch venue. It was super busy but the service was excellent and quick. The panini's were delicious and the bowl of chips hot and crispy. BLT sandwich too was super tasty and fresh. Well priced too considering it was right next to the bay and about the only place in the area. A great local business.

What a spot for a cup of tea or and lunch.. Over a weekend visiting there we enjoyed both breakfast and lunch menu.. very small carpark so was busy with surfboard riders. Lovely views, staff and pretty little village. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Great food, great portion and great views! What's not to love. We reached around 11am and got a seat easily, but towards noontime there was a queue! Highly recommend for the lunch menu(post 11:15am) and the cream tea!

Just found it by accident and it's a lovely spot to have an ice cream and snack in the day, and by evening a dinner looking out towards the sea. The staff are incredibly attentive and they love dogs too and made both very welcome. The menu is good and varied with Vegan options and can cater for allergies. The food itself is excellent for such a small beach hut (they'll probably kill me for saying that 😂) the food quality is 1st class and not overly expensive. Very nice decor and atmosphere in the dining area and with the sea as a backdrop, what could be better. My only concern was over the hook to hold the loo door a latch lock would have been better and it appeared that only 1 of the 2 loos was in operation. But don't let this detract from ambience and quaintness of the place. A fantastic place to eat at a good price and service to match. Definitely worth the visit if you can find it off the beaten track. Enjoy an ice cream there for sure!
