Wallhouse Barn

Wallhouse Barn is a converted stone barn standing alone on moorland just outside Bodmin, a few miles from the village of Blisland. You can step straight out onto open Moor from the decked patio, which makes it a natural base for walkers and anyone drawn to wide views and birdlife. The north and south coasts of Cornwall are each about 10 miles away, so the location splits the difference between seaside exploration and inland quiet.
The property is all ground floor with two bedrooms—one with two single beds, one with a double—and a bathroom with bath and shower. The living and dining room is the heart of the place, with a vaulted ceiling and glass doors that open onto the decked area with garden furniture and a barbecue. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. One dog is welcome here, and should be kept on a lead as there is livestock in the surrounding fields. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. On-site parking fits two cars. Arrival is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.
The barn draws water from a natural spring, and oil underfloor heating keeps it warm in winter. Families with young children will find a travel cot and highchair available. No smoking inside.

Spent a week here with my wife and 2 teenage children. Perfect location to get away from it all and enjoy some family time . Barn was really nice comfortable well equipped etc. Only negative from my point of view was bed slightly uncomfortable and the kids weren't happy about the sketchy wi-fi but a small price to pay when everything else is a positive.

We have now stayed at Wallhouse Barn on several occasions and cannot speak too highly about venue. The Barn has been tastefully converted to provide a large and well lit living room with three sets of patio doors, comfortable seating, a dining table and chairs, plus TV. Part of the old original structure is incorporated in the present building. The barn is in a remote location but not too far from the main A30 road. Farm land is all around with moorland sheep in abundance. For those who want to 'get away from it all' the location is ideal. It is perfectly placed allowing eqi-distant drives to either the north or the south Cornwall coastlines. The hosts live in the nearby farm house and their policy is to do all that can for guests without unnecessary contact. There is a large patio and a kitchen and bathroom at a slightly lower level. There is one double room and another bedroom with two single beds. All 'mod-cons' are available. Overall Wallhouse Barn is highly recommended.
