Field Barn Park

Quiet adults-only touring park a short drive from Bourton-on-the-Water

About Field Barn Park

Field Barn Park is a calm, well-kept touring park in the north Cotswolds that welcomes only guests aged over 30, which gives it a distinctly peaceful atmosphere. With 53 generously spaced all-weather grass pitches—each offering mains water and electric hook-up—it attracts a loyal following of repeat visitors who value the tranquillity over entertainment or activities. The facilities block is spotless and heated throughout, with provision for disabled guests, chemical disposal, and a utility room containing laundry, fridge, freezer and microwave. Free wifi covers the site, and dogs are welcome for a small daily charge with two dedicated exercise areas.

Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are both close by for shops and supplies—important, as there's no on-site shop or playground. Field paths lead towards the Slaughters and the Windrush valley, making this a practical base for walkers as well as those exploring by car. The site operates seasonally, and because it's small, highly regarded and child-free, summer weekends fill early, so booking well in advance is essential.

What visitors say

I’ve now stayed at this adults-only campsite several times, and it continues to impress on every visit. The pitches are a great size and feel nicely private, which really adds to the sense of calm and space. It’s such a peaceful, relaxing place—perfect for unwinding and escaping the usual hustle. The facilities are always spotlessly clean and very well maintained, which makes a big difference to the overall experience. The onsite shop is another real highlight, offering a lovely selection of fresh produce along with all the essentials you might need. What truly sets this campsite apart, though, is the staff. They are consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming, making every stay feel special from the moment you arrive. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site and will definitely be returning again.

Positives: very friendly couple run the site. Massive pitches with hedges in between - perfect for privacy. A natural meadow site with lots of wildlife and constant bird song. Very peaceful (until someone turns up playing music all afternoon but that's not the sites fault, that's just inconsiderate people). Facilities include washing machine and dryer, fridge and microwave aswell as usual washing up facilities and amenities. Great recycling scheme. Water taps between every two pitches which was ideal. Negatives: amenities in need of a revamp and a good clean. Heated floor in the toilets but door constantly wide open and roof lights (which are filthy and look like they may fall down at any point) constantly open leaving the facilities cold. I would return again, but I do think at the current £40 per night, a little reinvestment is needed into the facilities. Tip: the sign that says reception is misleading - the reception is right there - it's a shed with a caravan next to it! Myself and other campers went all around the site before we realised 🤣

this campsite does not allow children, nothing more needs to be said, 5. stars. However I would also add that they've done a lot of great planting and are looking after the wildlife there which makes it even better than having no screaming kids,. Plus, there is water for every pitch.

Amazing back to nature, but fully serviced campsite. The polar opposite of most commercial campsites, with a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Short walk in Bourton on the water.
