Visited Vue Exeter on 19/06/2026 to watch Toy Story 5 in Screen 2. The temperature in the screen was unbearable throughout the film. Numerous people were visibly uncomfortable, with some making makeshift fans, and it was clear the heat was affecting people’s ability to enjoy the screening. My partner and I paid for Ultra Lux seats, but the experience was anything but “Ultra Lux”. What makes this worse is that this does not appear to be a new issue. I have seen previous reviews specifically mentioning the temperature problem in Screen 2, with Vue responding that the team had been made aware. Despite that, the exact same issue was still present when we attended, which suggests no meaningful action has been taken. Vue states that its venues are fitted with air conditioning and fresh-air ventilation, but that was certainly not reflected in our experience. The conditions fell well below the standard expected for a paid cinema visit, especially when paying extra for premium seating. We ended up leaving before the film had finished because it was too uncomfortable to sit through. I contacted customer support afterwards, but the response was simply that customers should speak to a member of staff if they feel uncomfortable. Given this issue had already been raised previously and was still unresolved, that response is not acceptable. I am extremely disappointed and believe a refund or suitable reimbursement is justified. This was not the experience advertised or paid for.

Arrived for a showing 15 minutes early to be told that they had just cancelled the viewing because of the temperature in the screen. Reading other reviews this is clearly a known issue in screen 2, yet nothing is being done to address it. No communication is being sent out notifying customers of cancellations, only 12 hours later did I receive any email regarding this, so I'm now out of pocket for the costs of making it to the cinema when they could have easily notified me earlier as this has been known about all day as I was told. This is a really poor customer experience and not what I would expect from Vue who I've typically had the experience of being a better cinema.

Visited the Exeter Vue on 30th May for a screening and was extremely disappointed with the experience. The temperature in the screen was unbearably hot, making it difficult to enjoy the film. We were sweating throughout the entire showing, and there appeared to be no air conditioning running. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve experienced temperature issues at this cinema. To make matters worse, we paid £17.99 per seat for the premium seating, which did not feel worth the extra cost. The seats were underwhelming and offered little improvement over standard seating. The customer service was also disappointing. Staff seemed uninterested in helping and lacked the communication and problem-solving skills you would expect when customers raise concerns. Overall, for the price charged, the experience fell well below expectations. Unless improvements are made to both the facilities and customer service, I would struggle to recommend this cinema.

Cinema is always very clean. Drink and food selection is good but prices very high. Screens are large with very comfortable seating. Only negative was the screen was extremely loud. Had warning messages from my smart watch of over 90DB for about 70% of the film. Multiple people complained before the moving started (during the ads/trailer's) but staff did nothing.

Visitors say this cinema offers very comfortable, clean, and spacious reclining seats, along with a good picture and sound quality. They also highlight the friendly and helpful staff.

Some reviews mention the air conditioning can be broken.
