Yonder Meadow Holidays

Such a stunning place to stay. We stayed in the bee hive and it was everything we wanted. Our host lucy was amazing, communication was great and nothing was to much. Would highly recommend.

We discovered Yonder Meadow on Pitchup at short notice and were absolutely delighted! Only 15 minutes from Exeter. Lucy welcomed up really warmly and showed us all the facilities. There's a real partnership with nature and being low impact here. Homemade soaps, natural scourers for washing dishes, compost toilets, edible hedges and even a visitor's veg patch for the final touches for your salad. We stayed in Redwood and it was quite magical. Very romantic, whilst also being practical with thoughtful touches like a stocked picnic box of crockery and glasses, though we'd brought our own. The firepit/bbq set up is really useful, as was the field kitchen for a quick breakfast cooked on gas. Stoke Canon is 15 minutes walk with footpath all the way, and has a Spar & a community pub. We also did the looped walk from there to Branford Speke to the Agricultural Inn which put us in good appetite for dinner over the fire. Stunning setting, lovely shade in the glade on the hot days and even a treat of a Garden Warbler serendaing us on Saturday evening! I heartily recommend for a beautiful break, reconnecting with nature and yourselves.

Recently stayed here in "Clover" pod. Good Points. - Great Location for exeter and other activities in the area. - Lovely Surroundings (a railway line at the bottom that did not affect the site) - Peaceful and quiet - Great wood fired hot tub capable of reaching very hot temperatures and fairly quickly. - Directions before arrival were very good and precisely to the point. Bad Points. - Boiler problems (Am now aware that the problem has been ongoing due to reading reviews on airbnb and has been a problem for a while now, was also contacted a day or 2 before we left) - Little communication between hosts after being told by 1 that a "wheelbarrow or logs" is £20 and then by the other on the same day that it was £15. (Felt as if a little more money was trying to be squeezed out of us). - After requesting a discount on logs to replace our non working hot water/shower messages to host quickly changed from polite to a little "not very happy and blunt" - Toilet and shower block quite mucky and not cleaned daily. - Mattress in "Clover" is absolutely shot to bits and extremely hard. (This was soon backed up when I looked under the sheet. (An extra quilt and a mattress topper to try and mask the fact. ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5

We were a group of 3 couples with one child and two dogs and we used three of the accommodations . In spite of the weather we were kept nice and warm by using the log burners in each property and we even managed to have a barbecue using what we called the outdoor sheltered cocktail bar and even had a little dip in one of the hot tubs . The 10 year old loved the wooded area and enjoyed collecting twigs for the fire pit . The local community run pub, only a 10 minute walk away was pleasant and very friendly and the walk to the gastro pub ' the Agricultuiral arms' was really pleasant if a little wet as the river had burst it's banks. Exeter is only a 15 minute drive so we were able to get our M & S rashions. We have done much camping over the past few years and enjoy many aspects of the 'outdoor' holiday experience but have to say Yonder Meadow offers this but with more comfort and better sleeps ! Lucy was very attentive and acted swiftly to answer any queries we had All in all a really pleasant stay and we will definitely consider a return all be it in maybe a more conventional holiday time of year
