What visitors say
This is one of those place that will blow your mind away once you go through the gates of the property. Everything starts with a very big car park, free of charge for the National Trust members, a huge gift shop, and an amazed look at the two, possibly more, black swans! And many geese. The pond is well maintained and the garden is filled with flowers and a large variety of roses. The house is impressive and has a rich history going back to 1362. Henry the VIII might have stayed here for ine night during his courtship of Anne Boleyn. Churchill bought the house in 1922 and he lived there with his wife Clementine. On the property there is also a study hosting the paitings that were painted by Churchill. Also, a lovely café on top of a hill offering a nice view over the whole area. Overall, I believe the property is more than just the home of a great man, is an oasis of tranquility and pace.

We visited Chartwell for the first time, and the surroundings were incredibly peaceful and soothing. As soon as we arrived on the property, we were amazed by how vast both the house and the grounds are. Even before entering, we were charmingly escorted by a cute orange cat, which made the experience feel even more special. Inside the house was just as impressive. We especially enjoyed visiting the studio, where we saw all of his paintings. I absolutely loved his artwork it looks fantastic. The grounds were another highlight lush, beautifully maintained, and a joy to walk through. It was a wonderful experience and highly recommended to visit.

Lovely place to visit in a weekend or day time. You need to drive to this place. Parking is included in the ticket . Tickets cost £23.50 the gardens are beautiful inside the house is interesting. They do have toilets available outside but is a bit confusing for men use since they have different kind of toilets. People working in there were very polite and nice.

Not only is the setting with rolling hills and a stunning house and gardens but you get a real sense of history. I didn't go onto the house this visit due to being late afternoon and the house had closed but I have been many times and it has a lovely feeling about it and if course great features and personal items of Churchill. The at studio is also a must see and located near the main house.
