11 The Plosh suits couples and families with young children who want to be in the heart of Keswick rather than tucked away. The cottage is a listed terraced property, nearly 250 years old, positioned so that the market square, pubs, restaurants and Theatre by the Lake are all within easy reach on foot. A parking permit covers nearby car parks; you can unload at the door.

Downstairs holds the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and washing machine, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. The bathroom has a roll-top bath with shower over it. Upstairs is the living room with a woodburner and Freeview TV, opening into a bay window with fell views. The main bedroom has a double bed; a second bedroom sits in a galleried space accessed by very steep paddle-style stairs, which contains two single beds. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; the cottage is heated throughout. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted.

The steep stairs to the galleried bedroom mean it works best for children old enough to manage them safely, rather than toddlers or guests with mobility concerns. The cottage sleeps up to four: two adults and two children maximum. Catbells and Causey Pike are visible from the upper floors.
