About Crosbythwaite Campsite
Total peace, amazing views and seemingly endless fell-walking options – that's what you get when you rock up at Crosbythwaite Campsite, a pop-up fifteen minutes' drive from Broughton-in-Furness in the Lake District National Park. This teeny nearly-wild site has a limited number of neatly mown grass pitches, some sheltered by trees and all overlooking spectacular Birker Fell.
You can source breakfast from the on-site Crosby Snack Shed, a little foodie oasis serving up good coffee and local sausages as well as takeaway cold drinks and sandwiches if you're about to embark on a fell walk. Snap up homemade cakes, shortbread or ice creams to devour at the picnic tables, set next to a burbling stream with those same gorgeous views over the Cumbrian fells. Otherwise facilities are somewhat limited, stretching to a portable loo, and there's only a private, untreated water supply on site, so bring your own drinking water. A couple of pubs and food shops wait in Broughton-in-Furness for anything else you need.

What visitors say
This is a pop up campsite only for the 3 weeks of the Christian Keswick convention. (2 weeks before the kids summer holiday and 1 week during) All run by volunteers. Good amount of showers and toilets. Can hold about 600 people, and does take group bookings. Great location for the convention. And a short walk to the town.

Gillian was absolutely wonderful! Woke up to a nice calm area! Lovely animals nearby! Shop in the morning - millionaire short bread was really good! Got delayed coming in as I got injured on a hike but they were very understanding. Clean toilets which is always nice! Thank you for being so lovely!

£90 and 2 weeks advanced booking for a single tent is cult behaviour. Stay away.

Farmers field used for Keswick 3 week convention very basic but had toilets and showers. But best of all is the wonderful community spirit. Next to church with out of sync bells!
