The Borders between England and Scotland hold their own appeal: Gretna Green is three miles away, Hadrian's Wall within reach, and the Solway Coast a short drive. Northumberland National Park and the Lake District are both nearby. A pub, shop and restaurant sit 50 yards down the road.
Key to the Esk is a ground-floor cottage sleeping four in one kingsize bedroom, with a sofa bed in the living area suitable for children. Everything centres on an open-plan space with a woodburner, dining table and kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and coffee machine all included. The bathroom has both a bath and shower; heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, along with wifi and logs for the fire.
The garden is enclosed and lawned with patio furniture. The hot tub, private and large enough for six, sits under cover and has bluetooth speakers. A fenced river runs 100 yards away. Smoking is not permitted. Bike storage and on-road parking are available.

What guests say
We got married here in May 2024. Such a beautiful place to stay. Magical. Comfortable, cosy, spacious. The only issue we had was dog hair left everywhere but other than that it was a wonderful stay and we now have wonderful cherished memories at 16 bank street forever. ❤️ I hope to return one day for an anniversary :)
