Seaside Cottage stands on a quiet stretch of beach in Cumberland, just two dozen paces from the water's edge. The whole property is yours alone: three bedrooms (a double and two singles), two bathrooms, and accommodation for five people. One dog can come free of charge. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is here—the kitchen has an oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and full-size fridge-freezer, while heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.
The layout runs across a single storey. A sun room spans the front, positioned to catch views across the sea towards the Isle of Man and St Bees Head. Two of the bedrooms look out to water. Behind, an enclosed garden provides a sitting area with furniture and a bike store. Parking for three cars is on site. The beach itself—good for beachcombing, birdwatching and stargazing—is steps away, though the access track is unmade. A railway embankment runs behind the garden, and there is a single step at the entrance with further steps inside the cottage and up into the garden's terraced section. No smoking is permitted. The location works year-round and sits within reach of the western edge of the Lake District, coastal and fell walks, and towns like Whitehaven with its Georgian architecture and marina.

This has to be the best equipped and cleanest holiday home I have ever stayed in. The hosts have left everything you could ever want including paints for the kids to paint pebbles. The location is fabulous and unique. It’s so good we have already booked for next year.

The cottage is lovely, the summer room at the front is great for relaxing in. The bed is so comfy and its pitch black at night. There are so many games, books, puzzels and 2 craft boxes just the thing for those long rainy days we have especially in november when we came. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay, apart from food and booze that is. They even provide tea and coffee. Its so spacious with 2 bathrooms,3 bedrooms, a big utility room a living room/kitchen area, and of course the sunroom.

A fabulous home from home with an ever changing sky and seascape - feel so privileged to be staying here. A sea view at the front and a cottage garden at the rear.
