Springfield Farm Cottages - Rose Cottage
Cumberland

Bigrigg village sits between the western reaches of the Lake District and its coast—close enough to reach either within the hour, far enough back to feel genuinely rural. Rose Cottage stands on a working dairy farm here, a traditional sandstone cottage set back from the farmyard approach. It sleeps four across two double bedrooms and one bathroom, with a living room that has a woodburner, a separate dining space, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. Ground-floor access means no stairs to manage on arrival.
The cottage comes with its essentials: bed linen, towels, electricity and heating are included, as are the first logs for the burner. Wi-Fi is available. There's a lawned garden with patio seating and parking for two cars on site. The owner lives nearby if you need anything during your stay.
Walking distance to Bigrigg's local shops and pubs, the cottage works as a base for exploring fell walks, coastal paths and market towns across Cumberland. The setting itself—fields, grazing cattle, minimal traffic—suits anyone after quietness rather than activity.
