Thimble Cottage suits couples after a coastal break, families wanting to explore cliffs and beaches, or walkers who need a base near the start of Wainwright's famous route. The village itself sits on the Cumbrian coast with red sandstone cliffs, an RSPB reserve, and a sandy beach all within reach on foot. St Bees Head offers seabird watching and sea views; the promenade runs along the waterfront; the beach works for swimming and rock pooling.
The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed upstairs, an ensuite shower, and a ground-floor sofa bed that sleeps two more. The open-plan living area includes a kitchen with a gas hob and electric oven for proper cooking, a dining space, and a living room with a smart TV and woodburner. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. One dog stays free. There's parking on the road or in a free public car park fifty yards away.
The Manor Inn and other pubs are within a mile. A shop, post office and off-licence are fifty metres from the door. The cottage doesn't permit smoking indoors. Check-in is from 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.
