Built as a station waiting room in 1848 and converted to a home in the 1930s, Station House retains the original timber structure of the Furness Railway while being modernised inside. The property sits in St Bees on the Cumbrian coast, where trains still pass behind it—though they slow considerably as they approach the station, keeping things quiet. Ground-floor access via six steps leads into a living room with electric heating, a separate dining room, and a conservatory opening onto a private patio and enclosed garden with seating.
Two bedrooms sleep four: a double and a twin. There is one shower room with a heated towel rail. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. Private parking for two cars is on site. One dog stays free.
St Bees has a sandy beach and coastal footpaths; the village is at the start of the Coast to Coast Walk and within reach of the Lake District. No smoking in the property.
