The Farmhouse at Lane Foot sits in Dovenby, a village with enough character for a proper walk but close enough to Cockermouth (3 miles) for shops, restaurants and galleries when you want them. Bassenthwaite Lake lies to the east, and the wider Lake District spreads beyond that. The pub in the village is a ten-minute stroll away. There's coastal access too, and Kirkgate Arts in Cockermouth runs a cinema and theatre if the weather turns.
The house itself has three bedrooms sleeping six: a king, a double, and two singles, served by one bathroom with a shower over the bath. Ground floor holds a large kitchen with a breakfast bar and dining space, a living room with a Freeview television and gas fire, plus a utility room and a study with a desk. Essentials including bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered; gas central heating takes care of winter. A washing machine is on hand. One car fits in the private parking space.
