Cockermouth and the Lake District lie within reach of this part of Cumberland, where The Old Byre sits on working farmland. The conversion has kept its character—exposed oak beams run through the interiors, and large windows flood the ground floor with daylight. Everything is on one level, from the open-plan kitchen and dining space through to two bedrooms and a bathroom, making it straightforward for families or those who prefer not to navigate stairs.

The kitchen is fitted for proper cooking, with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances; the living area has a woodburner for cooler months. One bedroom has a king bed and the other two singles; both rooms have televisions. Outside, a substantial garden (partly shared with another property on the same farm) comes with a private hot tub that seats five, patio furniture and a lawn. Two parking spaces and a bike store are provided. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking throughout the property.
