The Garrison - Sian’s Shepherds Hut
Cumberland
View on Google MapsHadrian's Wall, the Lake District and the Solway Coast lie within half an hour's drive of The Garrison. This holiday complex occupies the grounds of a former Roman fort, where excavations uncovered artefacts now displayed in an on-site museum with a scale model of how the fort once stood. The Kings Arms Inn is nearby, and Carlisle, Gretna and the southern Scottish border are all accessible for a day out. The site itself has a bistro and gym available to guests, plus it sits on Hadrian's Cycleway—cycle route 72—making it a natural stopping point for coast-to-coast riders or walkers tackling longer trails through the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Sian's Shepherds Hut is a detached single-bedroom unit sleeping three, furnished as a ground-floor open-plan space. The living area has a Freeview TV and electric fire. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, and there's a double bunk bed (with a single above) in the bedroom, plus a shower cubicle in the bathroom. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included. You have your own parking space on site and access to shared grounds. No smoking inside.
