Featherstone House
Darlington
Coatham Mundeville sits just south of Darlington with straightforward access to the A1, making this a practical base for exploring the northeast or simply a countryside retreat. Featherstone House is a detached stone bungalow refurbished in 2022, designed entirely on one level—useful if anyone in your party has mobility needs or simply prefers to avoid stairs. The whole place is yours alone, sleeping eight across four bedrooms: a master kingsize with dressing area and ensuite, a second kingsize, a double, and a twin. Three bathrooms serve the property, one ensuite and two shared, one with a bath and shower, the other shower only.
The layout flows from a sun room (which catches evening light) through a spacious lounge with woodburner and smart TV, past a dining room, and into an open-plan kitchen and conservatory that form the hub of the place. The kitchen has oak cabinetry, granite worktops and everything needed to cook proper meals. From the dining room, French doors lead onto a raised deck with hot tub for four and garden furniture. The rear garden is enclosed, with a patio area for sitting out. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all covered; heating is oil-fired central. Pets stay free, though the property does not suit smoking. A step in the garden is worth knowing about if anyone in your party has restricted mobility. There is parking for three cars.
