Cotterill Farm - Cotterill Barn

Derbyshire Dales

Photo: Google Maps

Cotterill Barn is a detached stone cottage on a working farm in the heart of the Peak District, surrounded by dry stone walls and open countryside. One of seven holiday properties here, it sits within easy reach of a nature reserve, with bridleways leading directly from the drive towards Hartington village. The whole place is yours alone, with parking for two cars and an enclosed lawned garden bordered by stone.

Inside, two bedrooms sleep four: a double with ensuite shower on the first floor, and two singles sharing an ensuite. The ground floor has a living room with Freeview TV, separate dining room, and a kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included. An outdoor bike and dog wash facility sits beside the bike store, both useful given the Sustrans routes and bridleways nearby—Route 54 links the High Peak and Tissington Trails, both former railway lines. One well-behaved dog is welcome (no puppies under seven months). Smoking is not permitted.

Walks start at your door; by car, Ashbourne and Buxton are roughly 20 minutes away, putting Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton and the Dove Valley within reach for day trips.
